She is involved in commercial market research, to understand buyer or social behaviour, and marketing interventions like advertising, as well as academic research into advertising and the dynamics of market structure.
She is part of the Institute's Corporate Sponsorship Program run in conjunction with the Ehrenberg Centre, London South Bank University that is supported by over 50 major companies including Procter & Gamble, Mars and General Motors. It was founded by one of the greatest thinkers in marketing today, Prof Andrew Ehrenberg.
In 2000 Rachel and Andrew were awarded the ISBA award for "The paper which increases understanding of the way in which advertising works or can held to be account" from the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers and another award from the Market Research Society, UK.
She is a frequent speaker having spoken in America, France, Germany, Holland, UK, South Africa, Thailand, New Zealand, and Australia.
